Sig Sauer Suppressors - In AR Patterned, AR-15, Editorial, NFA / Suppressors / Class III, Other Gear & Gadgets, Rifles, Silencer Saturday by Pete with No Comments

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to TFB's Silencer Saturday presented by Yankee Hill Machine, makers of the new YHM Phantom 22 rimfire suppressor. Last week we discussed the SIG SRD22X on the new SIG P322 rimfire pistol. This week we put the new SIG Sauer suppressors, including three of the latest 3D printed models, through extensive self-testing. Can you tell a difference between them? Let's look at this.

I need a new KAC 5.56 QDC or QDC CQB for a muffler check on Saturday. I will pay a middleman fee for someone who is reasonably priced and willing to transfer to a Form 3. I reserve the right to refuse airsoft models, cardboard cutouts, or any other unreasonable suggestions. [protected email]

Sig Sauer Srd9 9mm Silencer: Mgw

Full disclosure, I am not a videographer. Add to that the fact that I got wet and the lightning was slowly closing in and you have an abbreviated look at these four suppressors on a selected 5.56mm AR-15. This gun is slightly under gassed which leads to some power failures. Had the weather cooperated I probably would have changed the rod - this rifle has a medium length gas system with the Surefire optimized BCG which is super smooth.

For me the SLX556-QD has a deeper tone than the 7.62 suppressors shown in the video. As a side note, the Clutch-LOK QD mounting system works great in extreme heat.

Thanks for reading and viewing. Have a great week, be safe and we'll see you here for another Silencer Saturday.

Sig Sauer Slx & Slh Suppressors

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of TFB's Silencer Saturday brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine, makers of the awesome Turbo K 5.56 silencer. Last week we discussed how everyone needs at least one rimfire suppressor. This week we have an exclusive look at the new SIG Sauer suppressors that will be available from August or September. Want to add one to your arsenal? I think so. Follow me for initial feedback and performance reviews.

Before you decide to cut my throat for not including some of the most important details and specs, I don't have exact weights, measurements, and prices to share yet. Although sturdy, none of the Inconel models felt unbearably heavy to me.

We fired the SLX suppressors on the NGSW Submission SIG light machine gun and MCX SPEAR select sniper rifle in 6.8 x 51mm (.277 Fury), 5.56mm MCX Virtus, and a .308 piston shotgun. Thanks to the extremely low backpressure design, there was no need to adjust throttle settings on either platform.

Assessing silencers used with supersonic ammunition is difficult without a decibel meter specifically designed to assess shots. But they each performed very well on their respective platforms. I was standing 10ft and parallel to the muzzle of the LMG and was surprised at how breathless and noisy a mid-sized suppressor was. Very scientific, I know.

Silencer Saturday: Sig Srd22x Review With The New Sig P322the Firearm Blog

Here's a quick assembly video from our own "seated but still the best producer in the business" Ryan Ogborn, showing the forward venting and ruggedness of the 3D printed SIG Sauer SLX suppressors.

As a reminder, these are pre-series prototypes. Colors and markings may be different when selling.

TFBTV got a crack on the MODX45 Modular Pistol Suppressor after SHOT Show 2020 thanks to our friends at Silencer Shop.

Today on TFBTV, Ryan looks at Sig Sauer's 3D printed titanium silencer, the MODX45. How does it work on the Sig Sauer P220? Watch today's video to see (hear?) for yourself NOTE: This muffler is NOT on the market yet and likely won't be for a year after this video is posted. James will soon have a more detailed interview on TFBTV about the new suppressors with the SIG Sauer team.

The QD mounting solution for the SLX and SLH models is different from the SRD556 and SRD762 QD models. While this may be disappointing for previous generation owners, this week I had the chance to speak with SIG muffler guru John Hollister. The new system is simpler in design and easier to handle, but the older QD mounts will continue to be produced for many years to come.

Speaking to Robbie Johnson, manager of SIG Sauer's suppression product development team, the new QD system is built around a tapered contact surface, internal combs followed by threads. The 6.8mm machine gun suppressor was mounted for thousands and thousands of full automatic shots before it was removed and it disengaged with no problem.

Unlike the last generation, owners will be able to purchase a suppressor model and use either a direct thread mount unit or a QD mount unit. Previously with SRD canisters it was a choice for one or the other.

Of course, the unlock position allows the mount to detach from the flash hider, while the lock position holds it all together.

If you dig your muffler in during assembly or need to remove it from the mount while it is still hot, a tool is supplied which mates with four notches on the muzzle field for added leverage.

Below you can just see the internal cams that engage the mount in the locked position.

We'll have a more detailed review of the SLX when I get my hands on some of the first production buses in a few weeks. Until then, have fun and head here next weekend for another edition of Silencer Saturday.
