Glock 17 Gen 3 Modifications
The two most common complaints about bell pistols have to do with the sights and the trigger. Both the sight and the trigger are important elements for the convenience and accuracy of shooting.
Other standard Glock upgrades include grip modifications, barrel replacements, magazine extensions, extended magazine wells, extended control sets, slide replacements, and accessories such as lights, lasers, and red dot sights.
The stock of bell sights is polymer. The sighting system consists of a square U-shaped rear sight and a single-point front sight. While these scopes are functional, most shooters don't like the idea of plastic scopes.

Glock 17 Gen 4 Vs Gen 5
If you want to install a red dot sight (RDS) on your Glock pistol, you will need to modify the existing slide or purchase a separate pre-cut slide. RDS-compatible slides have cutouts and threads for mounting the mount and RDS.
Glock captured the civilian market with the Gen 5 Moss models. However, other manufacturers have been making RDS slides for decades. RDS scopes are compatible with the most popular pistol and micro red dot sights such as the Trijicon RMR or Leupold DeltaPoint.

A common complaint is the shape of the stock bell trigger shoe. Bell triggers are known for their trigger-mounted safety levers (affectionately nicknamed "dingos"), which can be distracting or uncomfortable for some shooters. Many aftermarket trigger shoes for Glocks come in a variety of shapes, some with discreet or differently shaped trigger safety levers.
Another type of trigger upgrade for the Glock is one that changes the trigger weight. Standard triggers use a 5.5-pound connector, which requires 6-7 pounds. Forces pull completely. The exact amount varies depending on the model and age of the gun. Replacing the connector with a lighter model can reduce the draw weight. Many trigger kits also come with their own connectors.
Bell stock varies by generation. The barrels of generations 1-4 use polygonal cuts; Instead of sections and grooves, the barrels use less pronounced "hills and valleys" that impart spin to the bullet as it travels.
The 5th generation barrels, known as Glock Marksman Barrels, use a hybrid of polygonal and traditional rifling with a match grade head, slightly improving accuracy at longer ranges. Gen 5 barrels are not interchangeable with Gen 1-4 barrels due to differences in external dimensions.
