Jagdpanzer (JgPz) is the name given in German to heavy tracked tanks, although it can also be used for other types of self-propelled guns. Translated from German, Jagdpanzer is "hunting tank".

It usually refers to an anti-tank variant of an existing tank chassis with a casemate and well-maintained upper body, fitted with an anti-tank gun with a smaller front line, and used in the Western countries of World War II as a tank destroyer.

The design of the Jagdpanzer was followed by the simple design of the Panzerjäger ("tank hunter"), which took the anti-tank gun and placed it on top of the tank chassis with special armor mounted on the body of the gunner. However, the armor has a higher op again, almost never gives the body full protection. In addition, many designs were drawn from the Sturmgeschütz series to support infantry, which had used heavily armored casemates, completely enclosing the vehicle body. Although they are associated with artillery and infantry, they are often used in anti-tank operations.

On the battlefield, where the Germans have to retreat, their retreat line can go through where their anti-tank units are, they will use their superior strength to stop the emy, maybe they can attack. Due to the lack of cover and frontal weapons, the best combat conditions of Jagdpanzer units are in planned ambushes, and the skill of the commander of such units is in choosing carefully and preparing such positions in advance of the need.

The list below includes all types of Jagdpanzer tank destroyers produced by Germany and other Axis powers. That is, all Axis were designed for the purpose of destroying tanks and fully enclosed casemate equipment. Explosives are tracked by their first date.

After the war, the name Jagdpanzer continued to be used in the Bundeswehr for many armored vehicles used in anti-tank duties. It includes casemate type Kanonjagdpanzers armed with 90 mm guns and Raketjagdpanzers. The first Raketjagdpanzer was Raketjagdpanzer 1 built on SPz Lang HS.30 chassis and armed with SS.11 missiles. Raketjagdpanzer 2 was built on the same chassis as Kanonjagdpanzer, but had two SS.11 launchers instead of a gun.

Later, the Raketjagdpanzer 2 and Kanonjagdpanzer were upgraded to Jaguar 1 and Jaguar 2 tank destroyers, carrying HOT or TOW missiles. Jagdtiger (S/N 305020) on display at the former United States Army Museum in Aberdeen, Maryland, in 2008.

) was a German casemate tank destroyer (Jagdpanzer) of World War II. It is built on a slightly lighter Tiger II chassis. The name of the ordnance inventory was Sd.Kfz. 186.

The 72-ton Jagdtiger was the largest armored fighting vehicle (AFV) used by any nation in World War II and the heaviest vehicle of any type produced during the conflict. it was armed with a 128 mm Pak 44 L/55 main gun that could outgun and defeat any AFV fielded by the Union Army.

This saw some brief service from the end of 1944 to the end of the war in the West and East. Although 150 were ordered, only 80 were made. Due to its heavy weight and weak propulsion system, the Jagdtiger had problems with maneuverability and handling. Three Jagdtigers survived in the museum.

After the success of StuG III, Marder I, Marder II, and Marder III Panzerjäger, the military leadership of Nazi Germany decided to use the chassis of conventional armored vehicles as the basis for mobile weapons (such as assault rifles and tanks) to destroy). The German tank destroyers of World War II used casemates instead of rolling carriages to greatly reduce the cost, weight, and materials needed to mount large-caliber guns.

In early 1942, a request from army officers called for the installation of a 128 mm gun on a self-propelled chassis. Test firing from the 128 mm gun showed that it had a high percentage; Smaller caliber guns, such as the ubiquitous 88 mm and the slightly larger 105 mm, were also tested.

At the beginning of 1943, it was decided to install a 128 mm gun on the chassis of the Panther or Tiger I as a long gun. The Panther chassis was deemed unsuitable after being made of painted wood. On October 20, 1943, another wooden tank was built on a heavy Tiger II chassis, and was delivered to Hitler in East Prussia. Those two letters
