In my case, I've shot several XD service pistols over the past few decades. I basically knew what to expect when I got to the range. As a result, I had high expectations. XD delivered. I had no problems with the 760 rounds through the rifle. A variety of ammunition performed flawlessly in this pistol.

Accuracy went to 25 yards. Most guns can do this better than whoever pulls the trigger, which seemed to be the case with my test rifle. When I did my job, the guns were placed where they were needed.

Top self-defense loads like the Federal HST 147-gr. JHP, Hornady Critical Duty 135-gr. FlexLock and Speer Gold Dot 124g. JHP+P are all at or above expectations. They all fed with 100% reliability and made great groups.

One of the complaints some shooters have about modern assault pistols is that the trigger is not smooth. I agree that striker-fired rifles have a different feel than a classic double-action revolver, but I don't agree that they are bad. In fact, the XD is one of the best drives in its class. With moderate suction, the trigger has a relatively short pull until it breaks. I like how it feels.
